  2 - nil up against austria in a world cup qualifier last night.

  england rated the worlds number 8, austria rated 90th.. and we let 'em equalise!.

  You should do what we did the other night - make sure you are playing in a ground with dodgy floodlights!
  
  Spain V Scotland was a very dirty game - we don't have many skillful players anymore and tend to stop the opposition playing rather than make chances ourselves.
  
  I am not optimistic regarding the game against Slovenia - if we hold out for a draw I'll be happy.

  according to yahoo news, if you drink a cup of urine a day, you can get rid of dandruff, graying hair can turn black, sinus trouble can vanish and even cancer can be cured!

  in thailand, buddhist monks do this regularly and swear by it!.....what do you think?

  Is religion and faith not possible for some?

  i ask this question because i'm starting to have the scarey feeling that i was born "faithless".

  other than feeling that babies and flowers are beautiful and miraculous, i have been having the darndest time feeling 100% sure that god exists and cares.

  things that religious folks say are "blessings" i just see as the product of human effort and choice, or as stuff that probably would have happened anyway.

  This is something close to me also. I have no spiritual inclinations and as a child in the JWs I felt that I was on the outside. Everyone else appeared (alledgedly) to have a strong belief and faith whereas I could never share their enthusiasm or excitement. This made me feel like a complete fraud and a hypocrite.
  
  I so wanted their fervor to engulf me, but it never did. God, Jehovah, Jesus, etc were too abstract a concept for me to adopt. Like you, I felt that good things happened by your own deeds and actions.
  
  I still have no need for any spiritual activity, and don't foresee this changing. This is no doubt connected to the fact that being a JW was not an informed and free adult choice, rather it was a case of parental compliance.
  
  However, I admire those who can dissect doctrines, beliefs etc in the search for truth.
  
  One thing I have noticed on the board tho - sometimes those who have no religious beliefs, or indeed now despise any form of religion tend to be rather judgemental. They seem to regard those who still need to fill their spiritual vacuum as somehow letting the side down.
  We must appreciate and respect other's beliefs, and not generalise whilst taking the moral highground.
  
  There are good Christians, there are bad Christians, and likewise JWs. I feel it's important to look at who the person is rather than what they are.

  if i offended anyone, i apologise.

  i hade one wine too many because a dear friend has cancer at the age of 25 - she has a 3 year old a an 18 month old - ain't life a bitch.

  i remember all the kids would silently cheer when the lights went out and hope they stayed out.

  i mean no more silly grin plastered on your face pretending you would enjoy it.

  Crying at the movies

  i have a hard time expressing my emotions in front of others.

  i mean, i'd rather be naked than to let anyone see me cry.

  however, there are a few movies that can, in spite of my best efforts, make me bust out crying like a little girl: .

  I have to confess I find it quite easy to cry at the cinema.
  
  One film that really set me off was Awakenings with Robin Williams and Robert de Niro. It was so sad at the end, i couldn't stop the tears flowing.
  
  Another couple with the same effect are Bambi and Dumbo. At the part where Bambi's mother dies I feel my lip starting to quiver. Anything where kids, animals etc are distressed, hurt, ill etc. really upset me - I'm a total softy as some of the other posters.
  
  I am a big Jimi Hendrix fan and I always find his concerts hard to watch, knowing that he died so young and needlessly. I admire his artistry but this is tempered with a degree of sadness.

  Someone stole my notebook computer!!! :S

  today at work i went to get a notebook computer that i had stored in a filing drawer and it was gone!

  just this monday another guy in our office noticed that his personal optical mouse that he brought up to work was missing, but didn't make much of a fuss of it.

  damnit, this is frustrating.

  That's lousy - hope you get it back soon. At my workplace someone unbolted a ceiling mounted large data projector and managed to sneak it out of the building!
  
  Good luck with the job - I have been on temporary contracts for a few years and have only recently had my job made permanent. It was a nightmare - couldn't make any real future plans as I was never sure how long I would be in a job. No job is 100% permanent that's for sure but it's made a great difference to my mental health.
